INTERFORM Preparing Month Long Fashion & Art Experience For NWA

INTERFORM will bring fashion and art center stage during June for the inaugural ASSEMBLY, a month-long fashion and art biennial intended to highlight the artists and designers of Northwest Arkansas.

  • The walk: ASSEMBLY will begin at the Momentary with NWA Fashion Week, June 8-10, showcasing regional designers alongside exhibitions from award-winning New York-based artist Firelei Báez and an installation from world-renowned textile artist Rachel Hayes.
  • On display: The month-long immersive experience will showcase over 60 artists in over ten exhibitions across Northwest Arkansas and multiple retail pop-up shops featuring local designers' collections alongside nationally recognized brands.

Downtown Rogers Prepares For A Dog-Themed Art On The Bricks Art Walk

Pet lovers and their four-legged friends are invited to Barks on the Bricks this Thursday, May 11, for a pet-themed Art on the Bricks Art Walk, Downtown Rogers' monthly celebration of creativity.

  • On-leash: Lasting from 4:30-7:30p, the gathering will include pet portrait artists and photographers, visual artists, and pop-up booths by several non-profit organizations and businesses that serve the animal community.
  • Off-leash: Following the Art Walk, stick around Downtown Rogers for multiple entertainment opportunities like the stage performance of The Shadow Box at Arkansas Public Theatre, live music at Butterfield Stage, and Throwdown Thursday Karaoke at The Shire GastroPub.

Celebrate Mother's Day At The Botanical Garden Of The Ozarks

Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

Celebrate mom at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks' Mother’s Day in the Garden event on Sunday, May 14, from 9a-4p.

  • A little planting: Enjoy a tour of the Garden and stop by the various craft stations where you can make a mini-bouquet and a personalized Mother's Day card, plus, all moms will receive a free succulent from the BGO greenhouse while supplies last.
  • A little shopping: Trailside Coffee Co. will be present with refreshments, and local vendors will have merchandise for sale like jams & jellies from Parmelee Homestead Creations and artwork & stickers from Kandra Creates.

Northwest Arkansas's Hip-Hop Community Prepares For 3rd Season Of Groundwaves

Groundwaves

The third season of Groundwaves, a free six-month hip-hop open mic + mentorship program led by West Coast rapper and program mentor Murs, will begin on May 16 at The Medium in Downtown Springdale.

  • On the mic: Open mic nights are held once per month on Tuesdays at The Medium, where performer can share their work in front of a live audience of other creatives and fans. The following day, artists can return for a mentorship session with Murs to discuss artistic development, the music business, and how to grow their scene.
  • Making waves: The Groundwaves Arkansas community continues to grow thanks to collaborations with sister programs in Oklahoma and the pioneer program out of Colorado, support from the Tyson Family Foundation and the Walton Family Foundation, and the work of CACHE.
