The Fayetteville Film Fest Begins This Thursday

Celebrating the art of filmmaking and storytelling, the Fayetteville Film Fest will bring world class film to NW Arkansas this week, Oct 20-22. 

  • Rolling: The event will feature film shorts, documentaries, and full length films each day Thurs - Sat at the U of A's Pryor Center and Global Campus on the Fayetteville Square. 
  • Can you pitch it: Have a great idea for a film? Register for the 5th Annual Fayetteville Film Prize for a chance to win $2,000 to put towards your creative idea. The festival will also present interactive panels like a Pitch Workshop with Bonsai Creative

PLP Expanding Operations At Rogers Facility

Preformed Line Products Company, a major manufacturer of energy and telecommunications products, is expanding its operations in Rogers. 

  • Expansion: Expecting completion in Dec 2022, the $16m expansion will add 82,000 sq. ft. to the manufacturing facility and bring more jobs to the area. PLP currently employs more than 450 people. 
  • History: This will be the seventh major expansion since the facility's inception in 1969, and once construction is complete, the facility will have expanded to roughly nine times its original size.
