On this day in Arkansas history the 2001 Arkansas Razorbacks and Ole Miss Rebels battled it out in Oxford, Mississippi for 7 overtimes. Hogs won 58-56.

  • The teams combined for 144 points with 80 of those coming in overtime. The game also set the record for most plays with more than 198 plays by both offenses. The Razorbacks and Rebels combined for 988 offensive yards and four players rushed for more than 100 yards.

October Sales Tax Revenue

October 2020 sales tax showed mixed results for the region.

  • Info - The cities of Rogers and Bentonville showed drops in revenue generation, while Fayetteville and Springdale showed increases from the year before.
  • Rogers - Rogers reported about $1.67 million in revenue from the city's 1% sales tax in October, a decline of 4.38% from the $1.75 million the city received in the same month in 2019.
  • Bentonville - Bentonville got about $1.43 million in sales tax revenue in October, down by 17.23% from the $1.73 million received in the same month in 2019.
  • Fayetteville - Fayetteville saw an increase in sales tax revenue of about 8.1%, receiving about $2.18 million in October compared to about $2 million in October 2019.
  • Springdale - Springdale reported an increase of about 4.5%, receiving about $1.48 million in October compared to about $1.42 million in October 2019.

Fayetteville Film Fest

Fayetteville Film Fest goes virtual. Returning for its 12th consecutive year, FFF will be providing a verity of films over the course of 10 days. This includes 11 narrative and documentary films, and 30 short films.
