  • Go see: This year, Crystal Bridges is bursting with every rendition of art for you to experience, from an outdoor architecture exhibition to festivities of celebration and concerts to an original print of a US document arriving at the galleries.
  • Coming up: Today begins a weekend dedicated to The Dirty South, an exhibition celebrating Black culture. In addition to a lineup of events through June 17, there will be free admission to The Dirty South June 18-19.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital, which has a Northwest Arkansas location, made some record advancements on the latest U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospital list

  • Seven programs: Arkansas Children’s is celebrating the ranking of its most service lines ever in U.S. News and World Report. Seven of Arkansas Children’s specialty services are among the best in the nation, according to the list. 
  • Trusted care: With its number of ranked specialty services, Arkansas Children’s continues to be among the most decorated health systems in the state. The ranking considers medical centers through a survey that measures patient safety, infection prevention, adequacy of nurse staffing, and specialists’ opinions.

Arkansas Women's Track and Field Program Wins Program of the Year Award

The Arkansas women’s track and field team has earned the Women’s Division I Program of the Year award for the first time in program history! 

  • Prestigious winnings: The accolade is the USTFCCCA’s Terry Crawford award, which has been awarded since 2009. It recognizes the top program based on team results during the NCAA cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field championships. 
  • On top: The Arkansas women’s track and field team walked away from the NCAA championships with ten first-team All-American athletes. Arkansas achieved the award with 1.5 points over BYU by placing eighth in NCAA Cross Country, fourth in NCAA Indoor, and sixth in NCAA Outdoor.

Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre Performing At U of A Global Campus Theatre This Week

After a two-year hiatus, Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is returning for the summer of 2022 with Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing

  • Coming together: Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is the state's only professional Shakespeare company and is headquartered at the University of Central Arkansas campus. With the festival's return this year, the Shakespeare company and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville have formed a new partnership.
  • Curtains up: The Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre intends to invest in the talent and resources at the U of A, including its stage. The company will perform Much Ado About Nothing at the University of Arkansas Global Campus Theatre June 16-18. Tickets are $15 and free for students.
