The Momentary has released its 2022 visual arts exhibition lineup, and it is projected to push the physical and conceptual boundaries of how art is integrated into the campus and community.

  • Including nature: The year’s lineup includes 2 new indoor-outdoor-spanning exhibitions this spring and summer, meaning art pieces will be both inside and outside the galleries at the Momentary inviting collaboration between art and nature.
  • Mission: The exhibitions will stick to the contemporary art space’s commitment to cultivating a platform to uplift new voices and expand histories that prompt important conversations.

J.B. Hunt Plans Growth With BNSF Railway Company

Lowell-based J.B. Hunt Transport Services is launching a joint effort with BNSF Railway Company to substantially improve the intermodal marketplace capacity as well as meet the expanding needs of customers. 

  • Expansion: In response to increased demand and tight capacity, J.B. Hunt has plans to increase its intermodal fleet by 40+%, which will result in as many as 150k containers, in the next 3-5yrs. 
  • Stepping up: In addition to more containers, J.B. Hunt will add supporting chassis based on market need. BNSF has plans to increase its capabilities as well. The efforts of J.B. Hunt along with BNSF are projected to bring back the consistency and reliability customers expect after a long season of disruption.

Benton County Sierra Club Plant Calls For Retirement To Reduce Air Pollution

After the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced plans to reduce harmful emissions of oxides of nitrogen, the coal-fired Sierra Club plant in Benton County called for its retirement. 

  • Clearing up: The EPA’s goal is to protect downwind states from the air pollution of upwind states, which will meet the Good Neighbor requirements in the Clean Air Act. According to the EPA, the reduction of pollution will prevent premature deaths, asthma attacks, and respiratory illness. 
  • Every little bit helps: The Benton County’s Sierra Club plant will contribute to the reduction of pollution, maintain the 2015 Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards in downwind states, and make our community a safer place.

Happy spring weekend to you! Here are some happenings in the region we think are worth checking out:

  • Crawls: It’s St.Patrick’s Day weekend, which means pub crawls in Fayetteville and in Springdale with the Natural State Roller Derby! 
  • Fans unite: Dress up and get a little nerdy at a couple of conventions in Fayetteville and Rogers this weekend. 
  • Back outside: The Fayetteville Farmers’ Market will return to the Fayetteville square this Saturday. 
  • Green on the streets: Go see the St.Patrick’s Day Parade in Eureka Springs tomorrow!
  • Summer planning: Bentonville Brewing Co. is featuring outdoor recreation organizations and hosting a celebration of the great outdoors and a great new beer on Sunday. 
  • Exhibition: The Springdale Gun & Knife Show is this weekend. 
  • Rock the night away: Soul Nite is returning to the Meteor Guitar Gallery in Bentonville on Saturday evening. It will be sizzling with R&B and Soul music featuring Dee Dee Jones. 
  • Harmony: The Voices of Marcelito will be performing live at The Jones Center tomorrow. 
  • Car show: Cars and Coffee is happening in Springdale this Sunday at 9a.
