Bentonville Bike Fest Takes Off This Thursday

The third annual Bentonville Bike Fest returns this week, May 25-28, bringing a variety of races, workshops, and UCI-sanctioned events to Ole Applegate Place, this year's new venue just south of Coler Mountain Bike Preserve!

  • All day: The action-packed schedule includes a North American Trials & UCI C1 qualifier, a Cross Country Eliminator race, Enduro and Kids Enduro races, Gravel Races, a UCI C1 BMX flatland event, and a plethora of workshops with pro riders like Kyle Strait, Rachel Strait, Anneke Beerten, and Jeff Lenosky.
  • All together: Aside from witnessing world-class racing and riding action, there will be food trucks, live music, free water from sponsor Niagara Water, and an expo featuring over 140 bike vendors with the latest bike technology and outdoor apparel on display.

Walmart Opens Arkansas's First Market Fulfillment Center Today

Walmart will host the grand opening of its first high-tech Market Fulfillment Center in Arkansas at Store 100 on S. Walton in Bentonville, including a ribbon cutting ceremony today, May 22, at 2:30p.

  • Getting techy: The 40,000-sq-ft Market Fulfillment Center inside the store is powered by a high-tech storage and retrieval system called Alphabot, which leaders believe will promote exciting transformations in fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and associate opportunity.
  • Community: The grand opening will include remarks from Bentonville Mayor Stephanie Orman and CEO of Walmart U.S. John Furner, then the leadership team at Store 100 will present $15,000 in donations to Bentonville High School, Bentonville West High School, and Bentonville Schools Ignite Professional Studies Program for the progress of technological and educational development.

  • The sights: The City of Rogers will sponsor the celebration, bringing the community together for a night of entertainment and a spectacular fireworks show at NWA’s premier outdoor amphitheater.
  • The sounds: The Symphony of Northwest Arkansas has served the community with musical performances and education opportunities since 1954. Under the musical direction of Paul Haas, SoNA’s concert will celebrate the beauty and grandeur of America and honor our nation’s veterans and those who bravely serve in our nation’s armed forces.

Pig Gig Arkansas Returns To Downtown Rogers This Weekend

The sound of blues and the smell of barbecue will fill the air in historic Downtown Rogers as Pig Gig Arkansas returns to Butterfield Stage this Saturday, May 27, from 5-10p.

  • Good times: Come ready to feast on the pig roast bbq, bbq chicken, wings, and drinks from Ozark Beer Company. Along with great food, enjoy family-fun entertainment as multiple blues acts take the Butterfield Stage, including headliner Oreo Blue.
  • Great cause: Presented by Jay Alexander Foundation, Inc., the event is held in honor of Jay Alexander, who passed away from a rare liver cancer in 2011, and raises funds for the vital work of the Fibrolamellar Cancer Foundation.
