NWA Schools Rank High In Arkansas On Niche

Niche released their 2023 school rankings, naming multiple schools across NWA on its list of top schools in Arkansas. 

  • Public: Eight of the top 10 public schools in Arkansas are in NWA according to Niche, many being recognized for their college prep, STEM programs, diversity, and excellent teachers. 
  • Private: Niche named the overall best private school in Arkansas as Bentonville’s Thaden School, recognized for its excellent academics, diversity, teachers, student activities, and college prep.

  • On fire: The 7th annual Frisco Inferno BBQ Competition takes place in Downtown Rogers Saturday at 301 S. 1st Street at the center of all the Downtown happenings related to Bikes Blues & BBQ. 
  • Don't be a square: The Razorback Greenway will be filled with fun as the Square 2 Square Bike Ride takes off tomorrow morning! 
  • Bluegrass: Springdale native and multiple CMA winner, Jenee Fleenor, is performing at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks tonight at 7p. 
  • Choo-choo: Participants will be judged for their creative train creations and race through an obstacle course in the The Great Cardboard Train Race at the Rogers Historical Museum this Saturday at 10a. 
  • Vintage: Get your tickets for Vintage Market Days this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Benton County Fairgrounds. 
  • For a ride: Enjoy the various musical performances, car and bike show events, and great food this weekend at the Bikes, Blues, & BBQ Motorcycle Rally in Rogers. 
  • Have a bier: Raise a glass and enjoy a Bavarian pretzel at the grand opening of Busshaus Biergarten tomorrow night. 
  • Swing batter swing: After Arkansas softball’s’ doubleheader on Sunday, fans can take an at-bat and anyone who hits a home run will receive FREE 2023 Razorback softball season tickets.

Local Companies Recognized By Governor For International Success

Gov. Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas District Export Council honored two NW Arkansas companies at an award ceremony this week for their excellence in global trade. 

  • Slim Chickens: Founded in Fayetteville, Slim Chickens received the Franchise Development Exporter Award. Slims has become one of the largest food service employers in the state, and has grown to include an international location in Kuwait, multiple locations throughout the U.K., and has plans to open more stores across Europe soon. 
  • White River Hardwoods: Family-owned White River Hardwoods manufactures embellished and traditional hardwood mouldings, corbels and architectural woodcarvings, and are currently working on a project for Disney Tokyo. The woodworking company received the Rising Star Exporter Award for their efforts in increasing export sales percentages while increasing overall revenue.
