Local painters, artisans, poets, photographers, and more will display their creativity throughout Downtown Springdale for the public to enjoy during Downtown Springdale's upcoming ART WALK on Apr 27-29.

  • Wonderful walkabout: Presented by Downtown Springdale and Baldwin & Shell, the ART WALK self-guided tour of exhibitions and entertainment hosted by the various galleries, museums, makers' spaces, boutiques, and local businesses of Downtown Springdale. Begin your ART WALK tour anytime between 4-8p Thursday and Friday evenings and from 10a-6p on Saturday.

Return Late Books For Free During Fayetteville Public Library's Amnesty Week

Fayetteville Public Library is providing a chance to clear your overdue fees and start fresh during its Amnesty Week from Apr 23-30.

  • Fee forgiveness: If you have overdue books at home that are still in good condition, you can return them during Amnesty Week and have any fees forgiven. Any current late fees on your account for items already returned can be waived by visiting the library in person, via email, or by phone.
  • Returned: Late fees will only be forgiven if you visit or contact the library during Amnesty Week, so don't miss your window! The last time FPL hosted Amnesty Week in 2016, it recovered over 2,800 overdue items valued at over $60,000.

Meet Innovative Recycling Startups During The Rethinking Trash Event

Rethinking Trash: Entrepreneurship in Waste & Recycling, a public event hosted by NWA Recycles, will highlight entrepreneurship's role in recycling, including panel discussions with local entrepreneurs, a pitch contest for new business ideas, and a lunch with a keynote presentation at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks this Friday, Apr 21, from 9a-1p.

  • Better business: The event will begin with a Q&A with eight local startup leaders making a difference in sustainability, followed by a pitch contest for up-and-coming entrepreneurs to compete for up to $5,000 in prizes.
  • Making connections: The event will conclude with a lunch keynote by Dr. Andrew Dent, the executive vice president of Material ConneXion, whose ideas have been featured on TED Talks and NPR.

Asa Hutchinson To Announce Presidential Bid In Bentonville

Asa Hutchinson, the former Arkansas Governor, will return to Bentonville next week, Apr 26, to officially announce his candidacy for the Republican nomination for U.S. President.

  • Homecoming: Hutchinson chose Bentonville to make his official announcement as the city holds many of his significant "firsts." Bentonville is where he opened his first law practice, purchased his first home with his wife Susan, and helped launch Bentonville's first FM radio station.
  • At the Square: Gov. Hutchinson will make his formal announcement to the public at the Bentonville Courthouse on the Square at 10:30a.

Razorbacks Sweep Volunteers And Pull Ahead In SEC West

The Razorbacks swept #16 Tennessee in front of a combined 32,774 fans during the series at Baum Stadium this past weekend, pushing Arkansas ahead of LSU in the SEC Western Division Standings by a game and a half. The Razorbacks have not lost a series to Tennessee since 2005 and not since 1996 in Fayetteville.

  • Homers: Outfielder Jace Bohrofen was named national player of the week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper after knocking out four home runs in the last five games, bringing his tally for the season up to 10 homers and 32 runs batted in this season.
  • Play ball: The Razorbacks host the UCA Bears today at 6p at Buam before heading to Athens to take on Georgia this weekend, Apr 20-21.
