High Speed Internet In Benton County

NWA Daily

A town hall meeting is taking place this Friday, Dec. 3 to discuss high speed internet in Benton County.

  • To hear the people: Though Benton County is perceived to have high speed internet, there are areas that do not have the broadband coverage that others do. The meeting is taking place to hear from residents and find out where internet problems can be addressed.
  • Individual contribution: A survey has been sent out for Benton County residents to fill out so advancements can be made in the mission to make the area as technologically accessible as possible, as the internet is becoming a basic need.

AIDS Memorial Quilt Panels In Fayetteville

National Aids Memorial

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Fayetteville put on display part of the largest piece of community folk art in the world and will have it through Friday, Dec. 3.

  • Remember: Four panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt are in the church featuring the 42 known Arkansans that have been memorialized out of the 105k who lost their lives in the AIDS epidemic 40 years ago. The quilt as a whole is a 54-ton tapestry with 50k panels.
  • Panels: Though we only have a portion of the quilt, you can see it in its entirety through an interactive image. You can also volunteer to keep the quilt safe at St. Paul's.

  • Online browsing: Shoppers and vendors can participate in an online Farmers Market, where all the fresh vegetables, local meats, and artisanal goods can be accessed on the smartphone app or website
  • Easy as 1, 2, 3: It’s a great way to support our local farmers and growers year round and to have easy, weekly access to locally grown and healthy food. Customers can checkout in a single transaction and pick up their order every Thursday without leaving their car.

Lights In NWA

Downtown Bentonville Inc

The Northwest Arkansas streets are lighting up all around us and they make for a wonderful night out for a stroll.

  • It's lit: Every downtown square around is lit and decorated for the holidays, a couple of local families have outshone the rest of the neighborhood, and some local farms are stepping it up with their holiday decor.
  • Into the woods: Don’t forget about the North Forest Lights, an immersive light show experience in the forest around Crystal Bridges. If it’s not already, this walk through the woods might just become your new holiday tradition.
