Art On The Bricks Art Walk This Thursday in Rogers With Special Guest

NWA Daily

Downtown Rogers is attracting new and exciting events all the time and continues to be a center for creativity and collaborations in Northwest Arkansas.

  • Defying gravity: The Art on the Bricks Art Walk theme for June is "Perpetual Motion," named after an aerial dance company performing this week in Downtown Rogers as a part of a national tour. The original concert, Y20, "quite literally elevates dance and movement in Northwest Arkansas."
  • Energy & momentum: There are four opportunities to experience Perpetual Motion Dance this week, starting today with a public aerial class at the Arkansas Arts Academy at 6p. The group will perform once tomorrow and twice during Art on the Bricks Art Walk on Thursday.

Siloam Springs Kayak Park Opens For The Season

Siloam Springs Kayak Park

Grab your paddle and boat because the Siloam Springs Kayak Park is open!

  • On the water: The Siloam Springs Kayak Park opened in 2014 just south of the town and is located off Fisher Ford Rd on the spring-fed Illinois River. Kayaks, canoes, and tubes are all welcome to float, but you'd need to bring your own because you can't rent them at the park.
  • Go play: The park is free and open from 5:30a-11p, and the riverbank is ADA accessible. There are climbing boulders, a picnic area, accessible walking trails, and rapids engineered about 700 ft in Class I and II difficulty, so everyone can have some fun!

NWA Daily

The Famous Hardware Building in Downtown Springdale has a new window display for passersby to admire.

  • Connected: This time around, the windows have been brought to life by a sculptor and educator whose sewn inflatable sculptures use animals, plants, minerals, and the bacterial world to address human qualities and relationships.
  • Through the glass: The installation is called The Body Overwhelms and will be visible from the sidewalk infant of the building on 113 W Emma Ave through mid-August. The artist will be in Downtown Springdale on July 14 for an artist talk.
