Explore Local Artistry During Crystal Bridges's Pintura Fest Public Art Pop-Up

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

Opening today, Apr 17, in five venues across Northwest Arkansas, the Pintura Fest Public Art Pop-Up will feature large-scale paintings created by local artists last month during Crystal Bridges' Pintura Fest.

  • Art Fiesta: On Mar 18, Pintura Fest was a community fiesta celebrating the opening of Crystal Bridges' new exhibition Diego Rivera's America. Six regional artists, art teachers, and students from 10 schools created 17 large-scale paintings in front of a live audience.
  • In The Community: Art pop-ups will be displayed at The Jones Center, Rogers Experimental House, Rogers City Hall, Fayetteville Public Library, and Siloam Springs Public Library. At each site, visitors are encouraged to pick up a free art kit that includes at-home projects, a community guide, and an exhibition admission voucher for Diego Rivera's America at Crystal Bridges.

Honor Flight Of The Ozarks Extends Service To Northwest Arkansas

Honor Flight of the Ozarks

Honor Flight of the Ozarks has extended its reach to include Benton and Washington Counties, allowing the veterans of Northwest Arkansas to be honored with a day trip to Washington, D.C., for a tour of the capital's memorials.

  • Memorial tour: The Honor Flight Network is a nationwide nonprofit made up of independent, regional hubs which give veterans an opportunity to witness the nation's monuments that were built in their honor. An estimated 43,000 veterans live in Benton and Washington Counties combined.
  • In the service: Veterans who served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Shield/Storm, or any veterans who are critically ill are eligible for an Honor Flight. The first Honor Flight of the Ozarks will take off on May 17. The May flight is full, but registrations are open for the Aug 23 and Oct 25 flights.

Celebrate Earth Day At Botanical Garden Of The Ozarks

The community is coming together for the Earth Day Festival at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville on Friday, Apr 21, from 3-6p, including family-friendly activities, booths from community partners, live music, and a magic show!

Gear Garden Re-Opens This Weekend For 2023 Season

Arkansas's most unique beer garden, Gear Garden in Bella Vista, is re-opening for the 2023 season and throwing a party all weekend long, Apr 21-23, with food trucks, live music, and more.

  • The watering hole: With access to miles of hiking and biking trails near Blowing Springs, the Gear Garden offers a refreshing stop to enjoy cold beverages and other refreshments; all served from a refurbished shipping container.
