Roots HQ Fayetteville

If last night's Patio Concert Series left your mouth watering for some more Roots, they delivered.

  • How's that for service? Yesterday, Roots announced it would be extending its outdoor concert series, Roots HQ on the Avenue through August 1.
  • Located at the Fayetteville square, this concert series blends fun, food, and great music to give NWA residents a space to hang out and take in the long lost sounds of live music
  • Quote: "It’s crucial— especially now—that we support the ever-growing music scene here in Northwest Arkansas."

Bentonville First Friday

Downtown Bentonville Inc

Tomorrow afternoon, downtown Bentonville will be transformed as local partners re-create the state of Arkansas in a downtown scene for June's First Friday.

  • Friday's theme: Destination Arkansas - will have everything from"world-class museums and art galleries, to the beauty of the Natural State visible through winding trails, rushing rivers, and views from above," so there will be no shortage of adventure offerings for tomorrow's event.
  • The deets: First Friday runs from 3-9p at the Bentonville downtown square. There will be multiple food vendors and food trucks, adventure games, vaccines, and of course bikes.

J.B. Hunt is doubling down on its sustainability and inclusivity initiatives in collaboration with the University of Arkansas and the Walton College of Business.

  • Refresh: J.B. Hunt launched these initiatives with a $2.25M gift back in December. J.B. Hunt is now kicking in an additional $250k gift towards these efforts.
  • Endowed: Yesterday, J.B. Hunt announced a gift of $1M to the U of A to create the J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. Inclusion in Supply Chain Endowed Scholarship Fund. The interest generated by this endowment will fund scholarships for undergraduates in supply chain management.

Need for Speed

Think your kiddo is a future cycling pro? They can put their skills to the test on the Razorback Greenway in the Strider Cup on June 19.

  • Strider Balance Bikes were made for kids to develop a strong cycling foundation and even hone more advanced skills. Strider hosts its cup at several stops worldwide allowing kids to showcase these skills.
  • Who? Children ages 2-6 are invited to compete in this fun event. Online registration is required for 2-4 yr olds and must be completed by June 14 at 11:30p.
  • Grand opening: This event is being held in conjunction with the grand opening of the Strider store in Bentonville and the Bentonville Bike Festival.

Northwest Arkansas' Finest Fiddler

Downtown Springdale

Referred to as the "woman leading the fiddle revival in country music", Jenee Fleenor is an award-winning musician and Springdale native, who will be making a hometown visit later this month.

  • Resume: She has made a living in the country music scene as a fiddler and song writer performing with stars like Blake Shelton and writing for Dolly Parton. Jenee is the first woman in history to earn the Country Music Association’s Musician of the Year award.
  • All that said, Jenee will be in Springdale later this month for Jenee's Hometown Celebration. Where her and other fiddlers will be picking apart the town June 25-27.
