Mercy Adding 32 New Physicians And Health Care Providers

Mercy NWA just upped its healthcare game by adding some heavy hitters to its team, expanding its capabilities and giving patients in NWA even more access to top-notch care.

  • 32 hires: These new providers come from a variety of specialties, including primary care, pediatrics, and OB/GYN. This addition inches the hospital closer to its 100 new headcount goal which is nearly double from two years ago.
  • Why it matters: With these new additions, patients can expect shorter wait times, more specialized care options, and the luxury of knowing they're being treated by experienced professionals.

With 2022 coming to a close, Fare Flight NWA put together their top 5 "best successes" at XNA.

  • New routes: Coming in at the top were the new direct flight routes, which include Orlando, Phoenix, and Tampa. XNA additionally received $500K in funding to create a SFO route.
  • Expansion and growth: Separate from the flights, XNA has taken steps to making your experience even more fly with a new vendor, Einsteins Bagels, and a $30m+ expansion.

New Year, New Budget For Some NWA Cities

The New Year is starting off on a high note for Northwest Arkansas cities as they enter with larger budgets for the 2023 year and beyond. Fayetteville and Springdale are among the cities that are expecting to have more funds for various projects and programs.

  • Focus on logistics: Fayetteville has a budget of $500M for the new fiscal year, which is an increase of $30M from the previous year, and plans to allocate additional funds for transportation and housing.
  • Safety first: Springdale, on the other hand, has a budget of $135M and is planning to put some of the funds towards improving infrastructure and public safety. Overall, it seems like the Ozarks area cities are in a strong financial position heading into the new year, with larger budgets that will enable them to undertake projects that will benefit the community.

Rogers Approves A Second Entertainment District At Promenade

On Tuesday night, the Rogers City Council approved its second entertainment district - the Bellview Entertainment District at the Promenade.

  • Cheers: Going into effect immediately, local businesses and vocal restaurants restaurants encouraged the adoption of the new district as a way to build community with beer.
  • The boundaries: The area includes the Promenade outdoor shopping area and the businesses across Bellview Road including Rendezvous Junction Brewing Company and Fox Trail Distillery.
