Kayak Company Plans For Distribution Center In NWA

NWA Daily

As the scene for outdoor sports and activities continues to grow in Northwest Arkansas, the region is alluring to some big outdoor manufacturers. Most recently, 50-year-old company Eddyline Kayaks announced plans to make the move.

  • Funding: With a minority growth investment from a Bentonville investment fund, Eddyline has plans for a distribution center here in NWA sometime this calendar year, which will be a stepping stone for future dealers in the area.
  • Marketplace: Eddyline manufactures some of the highest quality lightweight kayaks all from its headquarters in Washington. With 150 store locations, the closest one to NWA is currently in Kansas. By moving to NWA, it will allow Eddyline "to support the distribution needs of our existing and future dealer partners".

Would you like to see nature take back one of its own? Well, the public is invited to participate in the release of a rehabilitated Barred Owl this Saturday from 4-5p.

  • Experiential education: The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is hosting the release by Northsong Wild Bird Rehabilitation. The public is invited to attend to learn about Northsong, the Barred Owl, and to witness the release.
  • Healed: The animal was partially blind and had a broken leg when it was presented to Northsong back in early October. The owl’s leg was surgically repaired and now he can fly and hunt, ready to return to the wild.
