California Bike Manufacturer Signs Lease With Ledger

Ledger

A high-end bike manufacturer has signed a lease with Ledger in Bentonville to occupy approximately 4,200 square feet on the first floor of the six-story building downtown.

  • Local presence: Specialized Bicycle Components has centers in Colorado and California, and the Bentonville location will open in the fall with Ledger, soon-to-be the world’s first bikeable building. 
  • First floor: The new Specialized space has been designed to be an “Experience Center” and a “communal hub” before and after time on the trails with areas to take a post-ride shower and enjoy a coffee. Specialized is the second business after Mertins Eye & Optical to announce a lease agreement with Ledger.

Terrific Tuesday Night Series Begins at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks

This evening, the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks is kicking off its summer Terrific Tuesday night series! The botanical garden has activities and events in store through August, every Tuesday from 5-8p, all free to the public. 

  • Opera in the garden: For the first Tuesday of the summer series, Opera in the Ozarks will be performing Pinocchio in the garden. Gates open at 5p, and the show will begin at 6p. 
  • Eat and relax: Simple + Sweet Creamery will be at the event selling ice cream, and outside food for picnics is welcome as well. So bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the events over the next couple of months!

Report Shows NWA Recycled 41,000+ Tons Of Material Last Year

According to the latest recycling report from the Northwest Arkansas Council, NWA recycled more than 41,000 tons of material in 2021. 

  • Collections: The NWA Recycles report was the first to tally collections from the Benton County and Boston Mountain solid waste districts and a dozen other cities with public recycling programs. The recycling collections included typical materials like aluminum cans and cardboard as well as more unusual items like tires, electronics, and yard waste. 
  • Materials: Among the report’s findings, in 2021, the region recycled 300 tons of electronic waste, 1,000 tons of aluminum, steel, and other scrap metal; 1,000 tons of glass bottles and jars, 9,000 tons of yard and food waste for composting, and 14,000 tons of cardboard and paper.

Berry Fest Around the Corner

Bentonville's third annual Berry Fest is around the corner and tickets are on sale now.

  • Pick for a cause: Berry Fest is June 17-18 at the Help One Now berry farm. All proceeds from the festival will help support the non-profit's community care efforts and mission to equip children internationally "transition into adulthood successfully." 
  • Festivities: In addition to berry picking, there will be live music from local artists and several food trucks available . The event will go from 4-7p both days. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for youth under 18, and free for children under 5.
