Stones In His Pockets Showing At TheaterSquared

Stones in His Pockets, a hilarious comedy based in Ireland, is premiering tonight at TheatreSquared and will run through Dec 18. 

  • Awarded: The show by Marie Jones originated in Belfast, then ran at London’s West End and Broadway, and has won the Oliver Award as well as being nominated for the Tony Award. 
  • Many faces: The comedy of the show is enhanced by the fact that just two actors will portray dozens of characters throughout the show.

Three Seed Razorbacks Host First Round Of NCAA Tournament

After being uncharacteristically eliminated in the first round of the SEC tournament, the Arkansas women's Soccer received their Seventh straight NCAA tournament invite on Monday.

  • Selection Monday: The Razorbacks will host their fourth NCAA Tournament match at Razorback Stadium in five years as the program was awarded a three seed, announced Monday during the NCAA selection show.
  • The opposition: They will face the Missouri State Bears, who are 12-6-2 on the season, on Friday, Nov. 11 at 6:30p in Fayetteville.

Department Of Transportation Awards Funding To Improve Outdoor Infrastructure

NWA will receive federal funding after the Arkansas Department of Transportation announced award recipients for the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and the Recreational Trails Program (RTP). 

  • On TAP: Benton and Washington counties received a cumulative $2.567m under the TAP program to be used for improving sidewalks, bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian and bicycle signals, lighting, and other safety-related infrastructure. 
  • Recreation: To be used specifically for recreational trails, the NWA area received $600,000 collectively for improvements.
