Crystal Bridges Releases Its 2022 Spring Guide

Springtime activities and galleries are ready to celebrate the season of blossoming nature alongside the redbuds and dogwoods on the grounds of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. 

  • Day activities: Crystal Bridges has daily events prepared for Spring Break March 19-March 27 that include a performance by Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra, drop-in dance lessons, art making, a board game bar, outdoor art walks, and much more. 
  • On the weekends: March 19-20 marks the first Nature Weekend. The next weekend, March 25-28, will feature the art in Bloom gallery, which will have floral arrangements paired and displayed beside museum artworks.

Theatre Squared Reveals 2022-2023 Season Lineup

To conclude a week of music and theatre lineup announcements, TheatreSquared (T2) has revealed the plays for its 2022-2023 season. 

  • On stage: After reading through hundreds of scripts, the directors at T2 have chosen 8 shows for this next season. This includes another installment and return of the annual Arkansas New Play Festival. 
  • The chosen ones: The lineup is as follows: It Came From Outer Space, Detroit ’67, Stones in His Pockets, A Christmas Carol, Poor Yella Rednecks, Sanctuary City, Chicken & Biscuits, and Pick Violet. The season will open on Aug. 24 and end in July 2023.

Saturday To Wrap Up Arkansas Craft Beer Week

A special pint day tomorrow will wrap up what 3 years ago the state governor proclaimed as Arkansas Craft Beer Week in an effort to spotlight the growing craft beer industry in Arkansas. 

  • Celebration: Most of the state’s breweries will be offering a commemorative pint glass in their taprooms tomorrow, and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Arkansas Brewers Guild. There are currently 18 breweries operating in Benton and Washington counties.
  • Regional guide: We created an NWA brewery guide complete with locations and small descriptions of each place. Go down the list and see which ones you haven't tried!

Weekend Roundup

You made it. It's Friday at last! Here's your weekend roundup of events we think are worth checking out:

  • Irish holidays: Downtown Bentonville is hosting a Celtic Crawl in downtown with over 15 different stops.
  • Movies: The 3rd weekend of the Fayetteville Film Fest is Saturday. The theme is the "Best of 2021 Fest".
  • Runway: NWA Fashion Week started it's walk down the runway yesterday with a full day of events scheduled for today and tomorrow.
  • Local pickin: There is a trend of country music concerts this weekend including Chase Rice tomorrow at JJ's Live in Fayetteville.
  • Home series: Hogs baseball has a home series against UIC with games scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
  • Market: Visit the last Market @ Record of the season before vendors take a break in preparation for the outdoor market starting in a few weeks.
  • Drink local: This week is Craft Beer Week in Arkansas and local breweries are celebrating with Pint Day tomorrow.
  • Riding: Take your family and participate in Coler Mountain Bike Preserve's Fundamentals of Biking course.
