Wood-Fired Pizza & Taproom Coming To Uptown Fayetteville

Smokin' Oak Wood Fired Pizza

If all goes according to plan, there will be a new wood-fire pizza and taproom opening up in north Fayetteville this summer.

  • Wide variety: Smokin’ Oak Wood Fired Pizza & Taproom is known for its homemade dough and sauces, fresh veggies, and baking its pizza in a smokey wood-fired oven. The most unique part - the taproom is self-service and will bring the largest self-pour tap wall to Arkansas with a wide variety of beer, wine, and mixed drinks.
  • Community location: Located across the street from Malco Razorback Cinema in northern Fayetteville, Smokin’ Oak Wood Fired Pizza & Taproom will be in the ground floor in the shops of Uptown Apartments.

  • Live and learn: For the 5th consecutive year, the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is hosting “accelHERate” for budding entrepreneurs. There will be 2 forums held today at 12p and 2p specifically tailored towards women in the workforce.
  • Passing it on: The forums will include lessons from businesswomen, their learned advice, and topics such as management and growth strategies, startup mistakes and how to avoid them, and key skills for entrepreneurial success.

Local Coffee Shop Sending Proceeds To Family In Ukraine

Northwest Arkansas is constantly living up to the standards of 'others first' as its citizens show support for neighbors in the region and across the world. 

  • A friend in need: The Wicked Bean, a coffee shop in Centerton, is raising money for 2 Ukrainian regulars’ family still living in Ukraine. The regulars are loyal customers who already had a drink named after them - The Crazy Ukrainian
  • Sending some security: Through the month of March, the coffee shop is donating 20% of every Crazy Ukrainian purchased to their friends’ family. The money will be used for things such as medicine, gas, clothes, and food. The Wicked Bean had raised over $350 as of March 3.

Walton Arts Center Announces 2022-23 Broadway Series

Last night, The Walton Arts Center pulled back the curtain and revealed the line-up for the 2022-2023 Procter & Gamble Broadway Series.

  • On the stage: This next Broadway Series will feature 6 shows all with an undercurrent of celebrating women. The shows are My Fair Lady, Pretty Woman: The Musical, Chicago, Tootsie, Moulin Rouge!, and Hadestown. 
  • Top-notch: The shows have a combined 26 Tony Awards, making 2022-23 the most awarded season to date. The WAC also announced the Arkansas debut of To Kill A Mockingbird for 2023-24.
