Park Update

The Bond Issue of 2018 culminated in the city of Rogers asking its citizens to vote on the bonds of different areas for improvement, which resulted in park renovations. 

  • Park Update: Frisco Park and Northwest Park received money for renovation, and Mt. Hebron is a completely new park set to be about 75 acres large. The construction of Mt. Hebron Park is underway and looking promising with it’s September 2021 update
  • New space to play: The space within Mt. Hebron Park will primarily be dedicated to passive play areas and will have an array of sport courts, fields and rinks. The park was purchased with the 2011 Bond Issue, but the 2018 Bond Issue will provide extra amenities

The University of Arkansas and Montana State University are partnering together to establish the MonArk National Science Foundation (NSF) Quantum Foundry.

  • Development in science: The foundry’s purpose is to “accelerate the development of quantum materials and devices” with the research of bonded atoms in single layers, i.e. 2-D materials, and the development of them. 
  • Forging a way forward: The MonArk Quantum Foundry is set up to put the U of A in a position of leadership in the world of quantum science. The NSF granted $20m to the foundry, roughly $10.6m supporting research at the U of A.

Early Birds

The opportunity has arrived again to participate in elections and contribute to decisions in your local government. 

  • Voting: Special Elections are happening in Garfield and Pea Ridge, and early voting starts today with the final day being Monday, Sept. 13. You can vote at the Benton County Clerk’s Office in Bentonville and Rogers.
  • Ballots: Ordinances concerning sales and use taxes and street improvement bonds will be on the ballots. You can vote in Garfield and Pea Ridge on Election Day, Sept. 14.
