Things Are Looking Prehistoric At The Benton County Fairgrounds

Benton County Fair

The dino-themed family adventure Jurrasic Empire is coming to the Benton County Fairgrounds this weekend on May 6-7, transforming the space into a prehistoric landscape where kids can explore and play.

  • Through the ages: Featuring various fun and educational activities, the exhibit leads guests on a journey through the Jurassic and Ice Age periods highlighting the dinosaurs and mammals that ruled the earth more than 150m years ago.
  • Dino-ride: Kids of all ages can view over 50 life-size realistic dinosaurs in their natural habitat and even ride a 12-foot animatronic T Rex and Triceratops along with other hands-on interactions like a fossil dig, 9D virtual reality rides, and a Jurassic-themed bounce house.

Siloam Springs Kicks Off Farmers Market Season With A Disco

Main Street Siloam Springs will begin the 2023 Farmers Market season this Saturday, May 6, and what better way to get ready to shop local than a disco the night before?

  • Let's groove tonight: The 13th Annual Main Event, Downtown Disco, will begin Friday, May 5, at 5p at the Brick Ballroom on Broadway St., including dinner, drinks, auctions, and the Downtown Disco Dance-Off. Tickets are $45, and 70's attire is highly encouraged.
  • Waking up: Shop baked goods, locally raised meats, farm fresh produce, and artisan-produced items at Memorial Park during the first Siloam Springs Farmers Market of the year, kicking off at 8a and featuring live music with Jacob McCoy from 9-11a.

Nonprofits Join Hands To Form The Children And Family Advocacy Center

Children and Family Advocacy Center

Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County and Restoration Village have combined to form the Children and Family Advocacy Center, unifying around one mission with one voice to more effectively restore lives impacted by trauma, break the cycle of abuse, and build resilient families.

  • On a mission: The dedicated trauma-informed professionals at the CFAC work diligently to empower those impacted by trauma by providing comprehensive services like advocacy, forensic interviewing, medical exams, and counseling.
  • Safe place: The Center also hosts training and education opportunities intended to break the cycle of abuse and offers residential housing for women and their children, providing food, housing, and transportation.

Railyard Live Begins 2023 Season With Cinco De Mayo Fiesta

The 2023 Railyard Live concert season will kick off this weekend with a two-night Cinco de Mayo Fiesta featuring Proyecto Tumbado with DJ Susie Q on Friday, May 5, at 7p, followed by Rodney Block Collective with Pura Coco on Saturday, May 6, at 8p.

  • Weekend plans: Railyard Live takes place every Friday and Saturday night until the end of September, bringing a talented lineup of local and national acts to Butterfield Stage.
  • RSVP: General admission is free for lawn seating, but guests must reserve tickets to save their spot. Tables for four can be reserved for $30 per event.
