Local Arkansas Waterfall Guides Prepare Explorers

If you’re like us and daydreaming about what you’ll do when the weather is warm again, here’s an adventure to add to the docket: Waterfall chasing! 

  • Let it pour: With the spring showers the waterfalls will be flowing, and there are many to explore — some right here in Northwest Arkansas. Finding NWA has put together a guide to 6 waterfalls with informative resources for each. 
  • Chasing waterfalls: The Fayetteville Flyer created a guide called “Nine waterfalls to explore near Fayetteville” with photos, descriptions, and directions for each. Which one do you think you’ll go to first?

Film

Ozark Society Creates Buffalo River Documentary

The Buffalo River recently had its 50th anniversary of being designated America’s first National River, and the Ozark Society produced a film to commemorate it. 

  • Telling a story: The film is a feature length documentary, and it explores the conservation history of the river as well as the contemporary issues it’s facing. The film is called First River: How Arkansas Saved a National Treasure. 
  • Showing: First River will premiere at the Skylight Cinema in Bentonville on Thursday, March 17. After the premiere, First River will be on the Ozark Society website available to stream for free.

Dance Group Showcasing Free Performances Tonight In Fayetteville

DanceChance 3.0 is presenting a choreographic showcase of community artists tonight at 7p at the Nadine Baum Studio Theatre. 

  • Symbiosis: DanceChance 3.0 was born out of the desire to connect audiences with a diverse style of dancing and provide an outlet for local dance makers to practice their craft. Tonight’s performance will feature new works in progress from 4 choreographers. 
  • Movement: The showcase will include styles for everyone — contemporary ballet, hip-hop, theatrical, and technological. After each performance there will be a guided Q & A for the artists and community to connect. Tickets are free, but they must be reserved online.

NWA Farmers Markets Coming Soon

Downtown Bentonville Inc.

Spring is almost upon us and with the change in season comes a tradition unlike any other - Farmers Markets.

  • Coming soon: The Fayetteville Farmers Market will kick off this year with 2 “Spring Fling” markets on March 19 & 26. The regular season will begin on April 2. Traveling up north, the Bentonville Farmers Market will have its opening day on April 9. 
  • New year, new market: The Rogers Farmer’s Market underwent a recent name change to become the Rogers Local Food Market, and it is scheduled to re-open this May!

With more vendors, activations, and locations the NWA farmers markets will be something you wont want to miss.

New Coffee Shop And Undercroft Turns Tropical

There is a new coffee location opening up today in Bentonville and Undercroft turns tropical launching their Oasis themed pop up bar.

  • New spot: Red Kite Coffee Co. has a new location at the Crystal Flats and the soft opening is today! The shop will be open 7a-2p through Sunday to give the crew a chance to settle in. This marks Red Kite's 3rd location in NWA. You can see this location and other coffee spots in our guide here.
  • Oasis at Undercroft: A tropical-themed pop up has taken over Bentonville’s Undercroft Bar and is open for a tropical getaway. The themed bar is open Tues-Sat and reservations are recommended.

Whether it is morning or night, you now have 2 new locations to try next time you're in Bentonville.
