Walmart To Open Another Health Clinic In NWA

Walmart Inc.

Walmart has plans to open two new health clinics in Arkansas, one in Fort Smith and one in Rogers, later this summer.

  • Service spots: The new health clinics will be modeled after the Walmart Health clinic in the store on Elm Springs Rd in Springdale. After development this summer, Walmart will have more than 25 clinics across the country that offer primary care services for a flat fee.
  • NWA addition: The clinic in Rogers will be attached to the store at 2110 W. Walnut St. If the clinic is anything like the one in Springdale, and we expect it will be, there will be a physician, advanced practice nurses, behavioral health providers, and dental workers who see an average of 12-15 patients a week, not including telehealth visits.

The Emma Building Group in Springdale recently bought the First Security Bank complex on 100 W. Emma Ave for $4.96 million and has big redevelopment plans.

  • The complex: The acquired property consists of the 30K sq. ft, two-story First Security Bank building and the 10K sq. ft “Barrack” building fronting Walter Turnbow Park with the tenants Con Quesos, and Phat Tire Bike Shop.
  • The plans: There are plans to turn the First Security Bank building into a new multi-use buliding that will include residential, retail, restaurant, and office use. It will bring a more interactive space to enhance the developing city square at Turnbow Creek and Shiloh Square.
