New Exhibit At Crystal Bridges

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville opened its first-ever exhibition dedicated to fashion over the weekend. 

  • Fashion story: The exhibition is Fashioning America: Grit to Glamour and presents American fashion as a “powerful emblem of global visual culture, amplified by movies, television, red carpets, and social media.” 
  • Featured: Over 100 selected garments and accessories from across two centuries of fashion are in the exhibition, emphasizing the work of designers who emigrated to America, Native American, Black designers, and others. General admission is $12.24 for adults 19 and older. SNAP participants, Veterans, and Youth 18 and under get in are free!

Community Creative Center Launches Fall Art Program For Kids

The Community Creative Center in Fayetteville has a new program this fall that provides kids the opportunity to learn about painting, drawing, collage, and other art skills. 

  • Drop-off: The program is called Awesome Possum Art Party and will be every Saturday from 10-12p through November. It’s designed for kids ages 7-12 to have fun and make art, and it’s a perfect time for parents to shop at the Farmers Market and run other errands!
  • Cost: The program costs $30 per kid, and scholarships are available to individuals who qualify and apply.

2022 Sunset Summit This Weekend In Bentonville

Some of the nation's most prominent mountain biking ambassadors and industry leaders will be at the Momentary in Bentonville this weekend for the 2022 Sunset Summit

  • For women: Women of OZ is hosting the summit on September 16-17 to teach the fundamentals of mountain biking while helping women build confidence, develop community, and encourage adventure in the mountain biking capital of the world. 
  • Who'll be there: The keynote speakers at the Sunset Summit are Anita Naidu, the first professional mountain biker of Indian heritage, and Lindsey Richter, the founder of Ladies AllRide and a previous Survivor contestant. Anneke Beerten, Bentonville resident and three-time world champion, will be an ambassador at the event.

Pick Up Where You Play Has Begun

The third annual Pick Up Where You Play has begun in Northwest Arkansas! 

  • Clean Up: Pick Up Where you Play is a series of litter cleanups that bring the community together to keep the region’s parks, trails, and waterways beautiful and safe. The event series will go through November 5. 
  • Next up: The following two cleanups are the following two Saturdays, September 17 & 24. On the 17th, there will be cleanups at Lake Fayetteville and Lake Atalanta in Rogers. On the 24th, cleanups will be on the Creek Trail by the NWA Mall in Fayetteville and at Lake Elmdale between Springdale and Elm Springs.

NWA Accelerator to Focus on Women's Health

FemHealth Founders

FemHealth Founders and StitchCrew are hosting an event on September 27 in Bentonville to share more information about their accelerator program in Northwest Arkansas focused on women's health and wellness.

  • The mission: StitchCrew is an organization that builds more equitable economies through entrepreneurship, and FemHealth Founders is cultivating a world-class femhealth ecosystem in the heartland. The FemHealth Accelerator will provide a learning platform for the next generation of leaders in the femhealth space. 
  • Who it's for: The 8-week program will run in the spring of 2023 and is designed specifically for early-stage, women-led companies in the U.S. providing solutions to improve healthcare for women. Applications will open in November.
