Fly Home, Buddy

Abby Gann

Remember that international initiative to turn parking lots into something more interesting for a day? Well today is that day!

  • "An endangered encounter": The Monarch Park is a pop-up park in Downtown Springdale in front of the Famous Hardware building at 113 West Emma Avenue. From 9a-12p you can learn about the endangered Monarch Butterfly from presentations and interactive exhibits for free.
  • The midway point: The inspiration for the Monarch Park is due to Springdale being a pit-stop for the butterflies on their migration from Canada to Mexico.

  • Game day: Arkansas Football takes on Georgia Southern Saturday at 3p in Fayetteville.
  • Get your cracker jacks: You can watch the Northwest Arkansas Naturals play the Springfield Cardinals every day this weekend.
  • Head bobbin: Live music at the Railyard, the Butterfield Stage, and Prairie Street. As per usual.
  • Art Up: There's a pop-up art market this Friday and Saturday in Rogers.
  • Student of the outdoors: It's Nature Weekend at Crystal Bridges and there is an array of wonderful ways get outside and learn.
  • Doing our part: The City of Fayetteville is hosting a clean up day on Saturday as opportunity for us to give back to our beautiful home.

Have a great weekend, and we'll see you Monday!

Ready for an A-maize-ing Time

McGarrah Farms

The Ozark Corn Maze has moved to the Rivercrest Orchard in Fayetteville this year, and it might just be bigger and better than ever before.

  • Activities: The theme is “Farm Scene Investigation,” and has more than plenty to do and enjoy. With over 10 new games and areas for entertainment, the Ozark Corn Maze this year seems more like a season-long fall festival open to the public Sept. 18 to Oct. 31 Thursdays - Sundays
  • Tickets: There is a general admission and a do-it-all admission option. If you want to add on extra games or rides individually after your general admission, you can do that too.

Check out the website for event details and ticket info!

Food for Thought

NWA Food Bank

September is Hunger Action Month and NWA Daily in cooperation with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is launching a subscriber campaign to support hunger awareness in NWA.

  • Cause for concern: In Northwest Arkansas over 65k neighbors face hunger every day. With this number increasing year over year, the NWA Food Bank continues to fight for everyone to have access to nutritious food to eat.
  • How to support: For every new subscriber NWA Daily gets in the month of Sept., NWA Daily will donate $1 to the NWA Food Bank. Every dollar raised helps provide at least 10 meals to children and families in the region we call home.
