Arkansas to Receive Fewer COVID-19 Vaccines than Previously Promised

NWA Daily

Just a few weeks into Phase 1B of the vaccine rollout, Alex Azar, former Secretary of Health and Human Services, said that the federal government does NOT have a reserve stockpile of doses. This means that a number of states, including Arkansas, will not receive the thousands of vaccines as previously promised.

  • John Vinson, CEO of the Arkansas Pharmacists Association, said he and others were under the impression that there would be upwards of a 55 percent increase in vaccine supply.
  • This could possibly drag on Phase 1B over the course of a couple months, said Julie Stewart, a local pharmacist in NWA.
  • However, healthcare professionals are confident that Arkansas is doing an incredible job of evenly distributing the vaccines, and are hopeful that the new Biden Administration will work with manufacturers to meet the growing demand. -KNWA/Fox 24

Strider Bikes in Downtown Bentonville

NWA Daily

For years, Bentonville has been the self-proclaimed "Mountain Biking Capital of the World." Today, those claims seem to be reinforced by some of the biggest heavy-hitters in the industry, leaving the question of what's next for the area?

  • Tom Walton, an avid mountain biker and philanthropist, said the distinction comes after years of intentional work by the city and community leaders. Strider Bikes will open its first location outside of the headquarters in downtown Bentonville.
  • Adding to that statement, Strider Bikes announced yesterday they will be opening an office in Downtown Bentonville between Kyya and the Five & Dime.
  • The downtown store will include a "learn to ride" area for kids, ages 6 months to 7 years, to come into the store and test ride before they buy. This is about to be the cutest store in Bentonville.
