Northwest Arkansas's Newest Professional Sport Is Padel

Matrix NWA

North America's first Pro Padel League is coming to Arkansas, establishing a franchise at Matrix Racquet Club, an 11-acre complex in Lowell with indoor and outdoor courts for tennis, pickleball, and Arkansas's first padel courts.

  • What's padel? A cousin sport of pickleball, padel is a fast-paced racquet game played in doubles on a smaller tennis court where the ball can be bounced off glass walls surrounding the court.
  • In season: The PPL's inaugural season will begin in the spring and end with the PPL Cup Championship in June. The inaugural PPL player draft will take place on Mar 20.

Pinky Swear Officially Open At The 1907 In Downtown Rogers

NWA Daily

We had the chance to check out Pinky Swear at The 1907 in Downtown Rogers and immediately fell in love with this new, swanky, Tokyo record-bar-inspired cocktail lounge.

  • On the menu: The menu offers food from the kitchen crew behind the esteemed Heirloom. The Kim-Cheese Pizza, made with in-house kimchi, and the fall-off-the-bone Strawberry Gochujang Ribs were phenomenal. After dinner, we satisfied our sweet tooth with a Yuzu Cheesecake Popsicle.
  • On the record: Pinky Swear exclusively plays vinyl records on a stereo, and even the menu is styled after a record sleeve with many of the cocktail names paying tribute to hit songs. We'd recommend the Snoop Lion, Byrhh Mama, or Latchkey Kid.

No reservations needed. Pinky Swear will be open Wed-Thurs, 5-10p, and Fri-Sat, 5-11p or later. Follow Pinky Swear on Insta HERE.
