  • Celebrate: It's National Farmers Market Week, and DBI is celebrating with Shop the Market and POP! Kids Club events.
  • 129th: Head out to Gravette to experience the 129th Gravette Day, a day filled with festivities celebrating the town.
  • Day of fun: Elkfest is back again, raising funds to support local causes and entertain you with a myriad of activities.
  • Polo in NWA? That's right. There's a polo club in NWA, and they are hosting Chix with Stix, bringing female polo athletes together for two matches in Gravette this Sunday. Spectators get to join in on the fun with a champagne halftime divot stomp, bring your own brunch, and contests for best hat and shoes.
  • Mimosa fest: Head to Nomads Southtown this weekend to partake in the weekend long Mimosa Fest.
  • Bluer grass: It's Bluegrass Night at Railyard Live Saturday from 6-10p.

On Aug 5, Walmart announced its acquisition of Volt Systems, a technology company specializing in omnichannel engagement. 

  • Reducing frustration: Volt System’s application provides actionable analytics that enables suppliers to better plan, forecast, and optimize product assortment, ideally resulting in fewer instances of out-of-stock products and frustrated customers.
  • Innovation station: The acquisition of Volt Systems is another example of Walmart’s investment in innovative technologies that will help the company better serve its nearly 230 million customers.

Bentonville Becoming More And More

  • The artsy, athletic type: It is estimated that Crystal Bridges Museum attracts more than 500,000 people annually, and Bentonville’s growing reputation as the “mountain biking capital of the world” brings in approximately 250,000 cyclists per year. 
  • Growing up fast: In the last ten years alone, the once small town has grown by more than 50% and it continues to change rapidly, stirring up a range of emotions for long-time residents of the area as their once familiar town transforms day by day.

J.B. Hunt Deepens Partnership With U Of A

The nationally recognized supply chain program of the U of A’s Walton College of Business has officially been renamed the J.B. Hunt Transport Department of Supply Chain Management

  • Strengthening ties: J.B. Hunt committed $1.5m to the college to help develop the program that now bears its name, further exemplifying the company’s commitment to advancing innovative, supply-chain focused initiatives. Since 2017, J.B. Hunt has given $7m to the school. 
  • Carrying forward: During the announcement, J.B. Hunt President, Shelley Simpson, said the partnership would “help us achieve our mission of creating the most efficient transportation network in North America, and ultimately the world.”
