Taco & Tamale Co. Coming To South Yard In Fayetteville

Fayetteville Taco & Tamale Co.

Another Taco & Tamale Co. is coming to Northwest Arkansas, and it’s going to be awesome. 

  • Moving in: The restaurant will be at the South Yard development in Fayetteville on the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and South School Ave. It is scheduled to open in the spring of next year. Fayetteville Taco & Tamale Co. will focus on local, seasonal ingredients, making it a perfect choice for the South Yard vision. 
  • New spot: South Yard is scheduled to open in late 2022 as a development with four reused buildings with rich local agricultural history. The South Yard area formerly occupied by Farmers Cooperative will offer food and beverage establishments, entertainment, a small office, retail space, a new public park, and 128 apartments.

New Outdoor Exhibit Opens At Crystal Bridges

A brand-new outdoor, nighttime experience is coming to life at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art today! 

  • Light & sound: The new experience is an interactive and immersive installation called Listening Forest and is an addition to the North Forest attractions. The installation consists of eight audiovisual artworks along the North Forest trail and will be open at night through January 1, 2023. 
  • Poetic project: Bringing together art and technology in a natural setting, Listening Forest will sense visitors, respond and “interact playfully and poetically with their participation.” Guest’s heart rates, bodies, voices, and movements will direct the forest’s response via 3,000 glimmering, pulsing lightbulbs and more.

Naturals 2023 Season Schedule Announced

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals 2023 Schedule has been announced! 

  • Play ball: The season’s game slate is 138 games and will begin with Opening Night at Arvest Ballpark on Thursday, April 6. The Naturals will host the Midland RockHounds in a three-game series through Saturday, April 8. 
  • Ballpark: There will be 24 home games on Fridays and Saturdays and a home game on July 4, which means a perfect excuse for fireworks at the stadium! The 2023 schedule has 69 total home games and 69 road games over a six-month period. Game times will be finalized and announced at a later date.

First Friday To Kick Off Art & Culinary Week

Bentonville’s monthly block party celebration is this Friday, September 2, and the theme is Art, Music, & Culinary to kick off Art & Culinary Week!

  • FF: The September First Friday will begin at 11a with food trucks and music, and the activities and activations will commence at 3p. You can expect some of the most talented jazz musicians in the region and over 80 local artists, artisans, and craftspeople showcasing their talents on the Bentonville Square. There will be plenty of opportunities to engage in art making, too!
  • Full week: First Friday will kick off Art & Culinary Week in Downtown Bentonville, which will include multiple in-person and virtual events over eight days. From a culinary tour to an appetizer class and live painting, the week will be full of great fun!

Fayetteville Rug Co. Raising Funds For Afghan Weaving Center

Rumi Afghan Rugs

Rumi Afghan Rugs is an Afghan-owned company in Fayetteville that sells handmade one-of-a-kind rugs by request to benefit Afghan women weavers and help start a weaving center in Afghanistan. 

  • The weaving center the Rumi Rugs is working to fund will be a hub for the community in Afghanistan and offer higher wages, a childcare facility, mobile health screening clinics, adequate lighting, and a safe work environment. 
  • Each rug you’ll see is made with vibrant colors from the centuries-old tradition of dying with all-natural dyes from vegetables, roots, and flowers. Rumi Rugs is able to pay the weavers three times their regular wages, ensure ethical production, and provide quality, authentic, purposeful rugs to Northwest Arkansas.
