Yarn/Wire Debuts Forest Concerts Series At The Momentary

NYC-based piano and percussion quartet Yarn/Wire is coming to the Momentary Mar 3-5 for the US premiere of Forest Concerts.

  • Enchanted forest: Commissioned by the Momentary and composed by Øyvind Torvund, this family-oriented, interactive performance combines energetic music, narration, comics, and sound to create an environment where kids and adults can invent, discover, and collect sounds.
  • Quartet's cause: Yarn/Wire promotes creative, experimental new music in the US and abroad by supporting composers and audiences through live performances, educational activities, and large-scale collaborative projects.

Used-Vehicle Giant CarMax Eyes Rogers for Next Superstore

CarMax

CarMax, the nation's largest buyer and seller of used vehicles, is seeking approval to build its first Arkansas superstore location in Rogers.

  • The proposal: The dealer is in conversation with the city planning commission over plans to build a 42,909 sqft building on a 17.4-acre site at 6360 S. Dixieland Rd.
  • Estimates: According to Talk Business & Politics, CarMax typically invests $10-$25m in the development of each store location which will hold 200-400 used vehicles on its lot.

Reuniting Razorback Greenway At I-49 In Bentonville

After being disconnected during construction on the interstate, the Razorback Regional Greenway at I-49 in Bentonville is finally being realigned in order to restore full trail access to those living in the northern city limits.

  • In the meantime: The construction is expected to take over six months, during which the Greenway will remain open with occasional closures and detours. Stay up to date by following @playbentonville and @WeAreTrailblazers.
  • Free for the public: The project's total cost is over $1.75m, at no cost to taxpayers, thanks to grants from the Walton Family Foundation, the NWA Regional Planning Commission, and the Arkansas Dept. of Transportation.
