U of A Program Produces Impactful Projects

NWA Daily

The Business Integrity Leadership Initiative, through programs at the University of Arkansas, has a history of producing projects that integrate ethical principles into strategic decision-making. This year it has plans to continue.

  • Project winner: A fruit of a 2021 project is the company Montay Coffee, which sources its beans from Haiti to make it more competitive in the global economy. Since starting, Monday Coffee has had an 11-12 percent return on investment and approximately a $10,000 economic impact. Basecamp Coffee in Fayetteville uses Montay beans for its guest roast.
  • New season: For the fall of 2022, a program called Let’s Talk is focusing on speaking up about something that seems wrong and how to create a workplace culture that encourages it.
