  • High earners: While NWA landed in the middle of the top 15 taking into account income and cost of living, the region topped this list in per capita income - 20% higher than the next highest on the list!

Golden Moment

Arkansas Razorback Baseball

Yes, more baseball. Kevin Kopps won the 43rd Golden Spikes Award last night, making him the second Razorback ever to have won the award.

  • They really golden? Might as well be. The Golden Spikes is considered the most prestigious award in college baseball and is based on athleticism, sportsmanship, character, and overall awesomeness.
  • Trophy cabinet: Kopps also won the Dick Howser Trophy, was named the SEC Pitcher of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, as well as National Player of the Year. You can watch the moment he won here.

We're doing it live. The Bentonville Film Foundation (BFF) announced the line-up of films debuting in the 2021 film competitions.

  • Preview: Scheduled for Aug. 2-8 this year's event will combine virtual and in-person activities, including premieres, conversations, awards, and events.
  • Special edition: Attendees will enjoy a 30th anniversary screening of Thelma & Louise at the 112 Drive-In in Fayetteville followed by conversations with Academy Award winners Geena David and Callie Khouri.

What we've all been waiting for - here is what we recommend checking out this weekend in NWA:

  • Summer Sidewalk Sale: Saturday downtown Springdale will be hosting a summer sidewalk sale with plenty of local vendors.
  • Cycling Festival: Downtown Rogers is hosting its annual, family-friendly cycling festival this Saturday, which includes the Bike Film Festival Tour.
  • Music events: With 30+ live music performance happening this weekend, it will be tough to not hear some good tunes.
  • Game night: Arkansas Naturals take on in-state rivals, Arkansas Travelers this weekend at Arvest ball park.
  • Pro tour: Buckin' in the Ozarks PBR Tour is making a stop this weekend in Springdale.
  • Sun bathing: In both Fayetteville and Bentonville there is free yoga sessions happening on Sunday.
  • Sunny's on Second: Sunny's, a food and juice bar in downtown Bentonville is opening on Sunday.
  • Food Truck Rodeo: Food trucks and live music happening this Sunday at Crystal Bridges.
