Famous Hardware Building in Springdale to Feature Blanka Amezkua's Installation

CACHE

CACHE and the Tyson Family Foundation have commissioned artist Blanka Amezkua for the next Downtown Springdale art installation at the Famous Hardware Building.

  • A cure for present ailments: The installation, Hierbitas de saberes (Tiny herbs of knowledge), is inspired by the oldest medical text crafted in the Americas, the Codex de la Cruz-Badiano, which shares the joy of the arrival of spring and the rich botanical diversity in Mexico.
  • Vibrant, visible: The installation is visible from the sidewalk and features the flower illustrations found inside the Codex. It will be in place through Jun 5, with an accompanying artist talk on Apr 28 at The Medium.

True Colors Tulips Farm Set to Open in April Despite Cold Snap

NWA Daily

True Colors Farm, a Bentonville-based u-pick tulip farm, prepared for the 2023 season by planting 120,000 bulbs in its tulip field. The farm, which is set to open in mid-April, is the first of its kind in Northwest Arkansas and promises its biggest season yet.

  • Beautiful and purposeful: The farm is not only a sight to behold, but also serves a larger purpose of educating the public about gaps in opportunities for adults with differences, with its proceeds from the season going to Perspectability, a non-profit aimed at providing resources and support.
  • A special experience: The farm is open to the public, charging an admission fee and a small fee for each tulip picked, and is staffed by neurodiverse workers during its customer-picking season.
