NWA Daily

Surprise, surprise...Walmart, Tyson, and J.B. Hunt made the Fortune 500 list again for 2021. This is the 9th year in a row all three have appeared on the list; however, there were some slight changes.

  • Who else? Outside of the Big 3 in our backyard, one other Arkansas based company made the list - Murphy USA.
  • Movin' on up: J.B. Hunt displaced Murphy USA to become the 3rd highest ranked company in the state.
  • Honorable mention: Dillard's fell below the 500 threshold, joining Windstream and ArcBest as the group of Fortune 1,000 businesses in the state.

You can read more about the Arkansas companies on the list HERE or see the full list HERE.

So Fay Loop

City of Fayetteville

It's all coming together in South Fayetteville. Several disparate sections of trail in the south part of town are being connected through a couple of current and new projects.

  • What's in the woods? Tsa La Gi trail was originally constructed in 2014 and is currently being extended through the woods just south of Chick-fil-A
  • The city has approved an extension of the Tsa La Gi trail further west through The Marshall apartment complex to meet up with Town Branch Trail close to I-49.
  • Making whole: This work will create a full 5 mile loop through much of South Fayetteville, and this new section of the system will be branded as the "So Fay Loop".

If you want more details on these projects or projected completion dates, you can find out more HERE.

Outdoor Art

Corridor of Murals

NWA Daily

This summer, you may notice more murals and outdoor paintings around the region. A big 'thank you' to local community sponsors and extremely talented artists for giving our community's curb appeal a boost.

  • Notable stops: The Fayetteville downtown square is iconic, layered with art on every corner; several buildings along Springdale's Emma Avenue mural tour; Rogers newly opened Rail Yard district; and lastly, Bentonville's downtown core has plenty to see.
  • Quote: "A mural is like the first indication that there's a group of people out there that just want this place better and more beautiful."

You can discover more about the murals through organizations like OZ Art NWA or a great summer bucket list article here.
