XNA on Track for Pre-Pandemic Enplanement Levels in 2023

NWA Daily

Though affected by the pandemic, XNA is on track to be fully recovered this year, and projections show it's even on track to surpass Clinton National Airport’s enplanement levels in eight years.

  • Growth plan: Right-of-way acquisition for XNA’s 3.4-mile access road from Highway 612 to Highway 264 is nearly complete, and work on extending Highway 612 from Highway 112 to Highway 412 is expected to be announced by the end of 2023.
  • Recovering rates: Passenger volume through XNA's TSA checkpoint is up 20% in March over March of 2019, and February enplanements were up 30% over 2022 levels.

Weekend Roundup

NWA Daily

Our goal for today and this weekend is to either make it through today without getting pinched or have you wearing the color green all weekend. Here's whats happening around NWA this weekend for St. Patrick's Day:

  • Spring fling: The annual St. Patty's Day Parade will make its way down Spring and Main Streets at 2p tomorrow in downtown Eureka Springs.
  • Drink up: Saturday is World Water Day with Lifewater International, a local nonprofit raising awareness and changing lives though water access. They will be at Coler from Noon-3p tomorrow.
  • Swing away: Down south in Fayetteville, Arkansas will host its SEC baseball season opener against Auburn Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Green machine: While you're down in Fay, the annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl, Dickson Street's longest-running pub crawl, begins at 5p on tonight at Ryleigh's.
  • All aboard: Catch a ride this weekend on the Arkansas-Missouri - a great family activity to have a unique view of the Boston Mountains.
  • Chasing waterfalls: Speaking of the outdoors, you might be able to catch a few waterfalls this weekend in the natural state.
  • Tis the season: The Fayetteville outdoor farmers market begins Saturday at the Fayetteville Square with a special Spring Fling edition this week and next.

Have a wonderful green weekend and we will talk to you Monday!
