• Fall flying: Normally the summer months show the highest numbers of passengers, but not this year. The latest report shows that October produced the highest monthly total since December 2019. 
• Low-cost: The number of passengers in October of this year totaled 73,369, which is up there with the airport’s best months in its 23 years. The low-cost carriers at XNA, Breeze Airways, Allegiant Air, and Frontier Airlines, boarded 19% of travelers in October.

The creativity and fingerprints of Northwest Arkansas are constantly spreading as another project out of the University of Arkansas Community Design Center (UACDC) was awarded one of the nation's highest public awards. 

• Design: The Markham Square Housing District project won in the Multi-Family Housing category in the 2021 American Architecture Awards. Over 120 buildings and plans were recognized in one of 23 categories in the prestigious award program.
• Scraps: The UACDC project is a scrap metal yard reimagined to be a mixed-use residential district that consists of affordable multifamily typologies such that have not been built since the 1950s.

A couple food trucks are stretching their wheels and rolling on over to the Yacht Club mobile food truck park on College Avenue in Fayetteville. 

• One: The Yacht Club is a host to some Soul Food at last! Fannie Mae’s Kitchen is run by a mother, daughter duo cooking some of the best southern food in NWA. The menu rotates all the time, so the pickins’ are fresh.
• Two:  Akira Ramen & Bowl will be open by the end of the month selling delicious ramen. The Yacht Club is said widely to be “Fayetteville’s lunch spot.” Go check out all they have to offer!

Northwest Arkansas is about to have another school campus on the block after the Arkansas Board of Education gave approval for LISA Academy to offer K-12 in Fayetteville. 

• Steps: LISA Academy is a tuition free public charter school. There are 7 locations across Arkansas serving more than 3600 students. The newest campus will open in stages starting in 2023 for K-5, and will be complete for the 2026-27 school year for high schoolers. 
• Footprint: The eventual Fayetteville campus will be just off I-49 at the intersection of Van Asche and McGuire. The 2 building campus in Fayetteville will be the 3rd LISA location in NWA after the Springdale and Rogers-Bentonville campuses.
