A local real estate group has earned the first-in-Arkansas Fitwel certification at its new mixed-use development, South Yard Lofts in Fayetteville. 

  • 3 stars: Fitwel is the world’s leading certification system and is committed to building healthy environments for all people. Specialized Real Estate Group's South Yard Lofts have earned a 3-star rating from Fitwel, which is their most prestigious. 
  • Stacked: NWA’s Specialized “builds healthy places and connects neighbors through exceptional real estate development and property management.” Specialized has led the way on a plethora of green and sustainable initiatives and won numerous awards in the past 10 years, but the Fitwel certification is the best yet by far.

Railyard Live Season Kicks Off Today, Weather Permitting

The Railyard Live 2022 season is scheduled to kick off today with a Cinco de Mayo event featuring authentic music, food, and dance. 

  • Fiesta: The Cinco de Mayo event will begin at 6p, weather permitting, and feature dances by Chinelos Morelenses Unidos de Arkansas and Ballet Folklorico Herencia de Mexico. There will also be musical performances by Mariachi Amistad and MC Papa Rap. 
  • All together: Beverages and tasty treats will be available from Food Truck de El Chefe, Smok’d TX BBQ, Yeyo’s Mezcaleria, and Lo-Intervention by Onyx. The 2022 Railyard Live season is scheduled from May 5 to September 24 and general admission is free, though registration is required.

The Little Craft Show Coming To Shiloh Square

The spring craft shows keep on coming, and we’re loving it!

  • Premiere fair: The Little Craft Show is returning this Saturday from 11-6p on the Shiloh Square in Springdale. Advertised as “Arkansas’ most talked about indie craft show,” the event will feature local and regional makers, independent artists, and small businesses as well as artists from across the nation. 
  • Vendors: The craft show will take place at the Shiloh Square Pavilion and dozens of makers will be there, so “expect high-quality, handmade products and the cutest booths you’ve ever seen.” There will also be food, drinks, and music to complete the atmosphere.

New Exhibition At The Rogers Historical Museum Begins This Weekend

The Rogers Historical Museum is presenting a new exhibit starting this Saturday, May 7, called “Civil War in Benton County: Untold Stories.” 

  • The civilian side: Civil War narratives are often about the military aspects of the war, but according to a researcher for the exhibit, there is much to learn about the civilian side. In the exhibition, you will learn about true stories of bushwhacker attacks, food shortages, and other daily life challenges for Benton County civilians. 
  • What survived: The exhibit will be on show in the Trammel Gallery May 7-November 12 and will feature several artifacts from Benton County that survived the war including letters, documents, and clothing. The Rogers Historical Museum is located at 313 S. 2nd St. and is open Tuesday-Saturday 10-4p.
