Crystal Bridges is hosting a free showing of Molto Bella, a film by Arkansas filmmaker Alexander Jeffery, tonight at 7p in the Great Hall. 

  • Romantic adventure: The film is the story of a poet and a musician who find each other in the Sicilian town of Taormina and push one another toward inspiration, creativity and betterment.
  • Behind the scenes: Alexander Jeffery himself along with the director of the Arkansas Cinema Society will discuss the filmmaking process during a prescreening talk, and there will be a Q&A after the show.

It might not feel like holiday season to you, but retailers are already making moves to get ready for the influx of sales that happen toward the end of every year. 

  • Walmart plans to hire 20,000 new part-time and full-time employees to help with the holiday rush, but it plans to have them stay after it’s over as permanent employees, not seasonal. Amazon, Aldi, Dollar General and Kohl’s are also hiring thousands of employees this coming season. 
  • Walmart is holding four local hiring events in Bentonville, Rogers and Clarksville Sept. 8-9 from 9a-6p. The average wage for supply chain associates is $20.37/hr
