Fifth Street Studio

When local makers gather in one place it reveals how many creative people are in our midst.

  • Market: Hosted by Fifth Street Studio, the Fifth Street Makers Market will be at Airship Coffee on 5th St. in Bentonville tomorrow, and it's going to be bigger than ever before. The line up consists of 27 vendors showcasing things like pottery, candles, clothing, woodwork and so much more.
  • Bonus: DJ Ryan Story and Taylor Ingred will be providing tunes, and Airship will be releasing a preview of its fall menu. The event will run from 4-9p. Biking/walking to the market is highly encouraged, because it’s just better for you, and parking is limited.

Fall Vacation Anyone?

NWA Daily

With the fading of summer, air travel from XNA has slowed due to the responsibilities that come along with fall, but one thing has stayed the same: the low fare trips to locations all over the country.

  • Traveling again: There has been a general decline in passengers due to the pandemic, but numbers are on the up and up. XNA reported more than twice the number of people boarded flights this August than last.
  • Incentive to go: At the end of August XNA was 8,000 passengers short of the total amount of passengers in 2020. With the cost of flights staying low, the airport projects more than 500,000 passengers in 2021.

Levels of Success

After the Supreme Court verdict this past summer in Alston vs. NCAA, student athletes are no longer limited on the education benefits they can receive. Which means, athletes can get paid for doing well in school.

  • Localized: As of an announcement yesterday (Sept. 23), Razorback athletes “may receive money for their academic success” as a part of The Razorback Academic Success Initiative.
  • Holistic success: The initiative ramps up more than ever the incentive for advancement toward a degree, as the University of Arkansas athletic department is invested in the education of its student athletes.
