Kid energy doesn’t stop when the weather makes it hard to get outside. Whether it’s too hot, too cold, or raining cats and dogs, here are a few places around Northwest Arkansas where the kids can still move around… and parents can get out of the house.


Benton County

Climb Bentonville — This climbing gym located in Bentonville has summer camps for kids, fitness classes, and group climbs available. For those just starting to climb or those looking for an indoor challenge, Climb Bentonville is the place to go.

Great Day Skate Place — Great Day is a skating rink located in Bentonville. They offer group events, birthday parties, and more to get you and your family out on the rink.

NWA Rolling Video Games — This mobile video game truck serves the Northwest Arkansas area. It can fit up to 12 people inside and has T.V.s outside the truck to serve parties and events. A great idea for kids and teens who love to game to experience it in a new and social way.

Painting With A Twist — Painting With A Twist offers classes for all ages. Whether you want to have a girl’s night, date night, host a birthday party, or bring the whole family for family night, Painting With A Twist is a great idea to test out your creative side.

Fifth Street Studio — This ceramics studio offers classes for all ranges of ability, from beginner to advanced. Sign up for a class to learn the pottery basics, using a wheel, hand building, and more.

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art — A world-class art museum with free admission can be a great way to expose kids to the world of art and creativity.

The Scott Family Amazeum — This hands-on museum in Bentonville offers activities to learn for all ages. With education classes and programs, and early learning to teen activities, the Amazeum is a family-friendly place to learn.

Defy Trampoline Park — Defy Trampoline Park in Rogers has Ninja obstacle courses, trampoline basketball and dodgeball, open jump areas, and more to burn off some energy and jump to new heights.

Fast Lane Entertainment — Play arcade games, laser tag, ride bumper cars, and bowl in this indoor entertainment center located in Rogers.

Blue Zoo — Explore sealife and walk through ocean depths at this indoor aquarium at the Pinnacle Hills Promenade Mall.


Washington County

J.B. and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center — This 32,000-square-foot facility on over 61 acres offers an amazing way to learn about the natural world and outdoor recreation in Northwest Arkansas.

The Jones Center — The Jones Center in Springdale offers membership and scholarships, which include free fitness classes, such as yoga and spin. They also offer youth recreational sports teams and activities such as gymnastics, ballet, and skating. The Jones Center is a perfect space to learn new sports and get your kids plugged into local teams and activities.

Big Box Karaoke — Reserve a room at Big Box Karaoke in Fayetteville and impress your kids with how many Disney classics you can still go word for word with. Kids sing free on Sundays, and all students get 50% off karaoke on Thursday Student Nights. They also have a great menu of food and drinks to enjoy.

Lokomotion Family Fun Park — An entertainment park located right on the border of Springdale and Fayetteville, featuring bumper karts and go-karts, a full arcade, miniature golf, and laser tag.

Fayetteville Public Library — With an amazing children's program that devotes the summer to outdoor and indoor activities. With family-friendly movie nights, archeology, fabrication, and robotics classes for teens, cooking, and activities for adults, there truly is something for every member of the family at the Fayetteville Public Library. The best part- it’s all free to members.

Arkadia Retrocade — Nearly 130 vintage and modern arcade games for all ages. Arkadia is located in Fayetteville, and with a set price, you can play games like Pac-Man, Frogger, Donkey Kong, and more all day.

Starlight Skatium — This hardwood skating rink in Fayetteville has skating Wednesday through Sunday every week, with prices ranging from $5-$10 dollars. Starlight also offers Skater Tot for kids 10 and under. During the first Thursday of every month, you can bring your little ones and scoot around on gliders, scooters, or skates while listening to Disney and Kids’ Bop songs.

Modern Mission — Indoor Laser-Tag and Airsoft games for kids of all ages. Whether you want to rent out the space for friends and family or spend a hot afternoon with some indoor play, Modern Mission in Fayetteville has great options for any group of play.

Altitude Trampoline Park — This indoor Trampoline Park offers dodgeball, climbing walls, and jump zones. Not a bad spot to host a birthday party!

Terra Studios — This glass studio in Fayetteville is the creator of the “Blue Bird of Happiness”. You can host events, take art classes, visit their Sunday music session, or walk through the art park with sculptures from multiple local artists. Terra Studio is also a nonprofit dedicated to promoting local art and artists in Northwest Arkansas.
