AcreTrader - Business Intelligence Analyst

AcreMaps is seeking a business intelligence (BI) analyst based in Northwest Arkansas to join the growing data science team that supports our AcreMaps platform. As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, you will combine business acumen, technology, and innovation to provide valuable insights for product decisions in AcreMaps. The BI Analyst will explore ways to leverage both internal data and user-provided information to improve AcreMaps data offerings, customizations, and client tracking. The BI Analyst will be part of the business intelligence team and work on metrics and analytics that ensure velocity in meeting AcreMaps’ goals of gaining and retaining users.

You will work with the business intelligence team to leverage data visualizations and warehousing expertise, manage project schedules, design and implement key performance indicators (KPI), and clearly communicate with project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be comfortable ramping up quickly to analyze existing data and create meaningful user insights that better engage and retain users. The BI Analyst will work closely with the data science team lead, Senior UX Researchers, and Product Manager to create technical and automated approaches to user testing and analytics. The candidate will work with existing data and begin operationalizing user testing information to develop formal analysis of user personas. Hiring the right person for this role is important to our team because they will be an integral part of the creation and continuous improvement of our AcreMaps platform.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Partner closely with Product and Marketing teams, understand their data needs, and build plans to address those with intelligent data solutions in a timely and sustainable fashion.
  • Deliver data solutions that tell a story and provide insights to the users, enabling them to make better decisions, and more efficiently complete their responsibilities.
  • Incorporate best practices for reporting, dashboards and scorecards, and data visualization for key performance indicators.
  • Maintain highest levels of development practices (i.e., technical design, solution development, systems configuration, test documentation/execution, issue identification and resolution, writing clean, modular, and self-sustaining code).

Key Competencies/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in programming (Python, R) and SQL/Postgres.
  • Data visualization expertise with tools like Tableau, MS Excel, HubSpot, etc.
  • Experience with building data infrastructure (e.g., designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring) and implementing automated reporting solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to thrive in startup environment
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment at AcreTrader

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline with 2+ years of work experience
  • Experience working on teams that managed large-scale data projects.
  • Conceptual, logical and physical data modeling, and data architecture knowledge.
  • Transparency and openness to feedback
  • Comfort working in an Agile environment
  • Jira or similar sprint-oriented project workflow software
