Theatre Squared - Café Supervisor

The Cafe Supervisor is an integral member of TheatreSquared’s The Commons Bar/Café team. The perfect candidate will be a strong leader with an eagerness to engage with the T2 community. 

Charged with maintaining a high level of service and day-to-day café operations, this position offers additional opportunities for artistic and professional growth. The Café Supervisor will collaborate with the larger T2 team to create seasonal and show-specific culinary experiences. They will also look for opportunities to contribute to The Commons and TheatreSquared social media channels. This position reports to the Director of Community Experience and the Cafe Manager of The Commons Bar/Café staff.

TheatreSquared is a mission-driven organization beginning a new phase in a state-of-the-art, 50,000-square-foot, two-venue home. As a culinary and bar specialist—and as a positive, collaborative member of an inclusive workforce—this new staff member will help TheatreSquared answer the question, “How can a theatre be an agent of social change—helping foster a community that is fundamentally more equitable?”

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Serves as a leader for the entire team through both excellent work and by actively creating a positive working culture
  • Provides optimal customer experience and maintains an inclusive, welcoming community space
  • Solving problems during service quickly and efficiently, relating to food and beverage quality control, inventory, staffing, equipment malfunctions, or any other issues that may occur during evening shifts
  • Seeks opportunities to create content for The Commons and TheatreSquared social media channels
  • Trusted with managing the facility by opening or closing the bar/café, serving as a shift lead/key holder
  • Trains and onboards new cafe staff according to company policies specific to the cafe 
  • Collaborates on innovative seasonal and show-specific menu items
  • Accurately counts and closes out the POS and cash handling system
  • Maximizing resources made available to the cafe, and providing insight regarding budgeting, operational costs, and featured promotions
  • Delegating roles to cafe staff members based on experience level and ability to navigate the flow of service, especially during high volume hours
  • Maintains a clean and inviting environment of The Commons space
  • Serves as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Commons GM and/or Cafe Manager
  • Attends all TheatreSquared staff and The Commons management meetings

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years bartending and/or barista experience  

DESIRABLE SKILL SETS

  • ServSafe certification 
  • Shift lead/supervisor experience 
  • Social media/marketing experience
  • Ability to curate innovative cocktails and beverage program choices

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Compensation is highly competitive and commensurate with experience. The base pay for this part-time, non-exempt position is $15 per hour, in addition to generous tips. Benefits include flexible scheduling, holiday pay, paid time off, allotted show tickets, shift meals/beverages, access to the company employee assistance program, and the opportunity to regularly experience live theatre.

ABOUT THEATRESQUARED & NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
