Theatre Squared - Marketing and Development Manager

TheatreSquared seeks a Marketing & Development Manager to join the organization’s team while working to develop a larger and more inclusive audience in its brand-new, state-of-the art, $31 million home. Under the leadership of the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Director of Development, this team member will support the theatre’s earned and contributed revenue initiatives by leading holistic campaigns and programs to earn and grow loyalty among new audiences and core patrons, resulting in increased ticket buying and giving.

By expanding the theatre’s audience with a commitment to inclusion and access—and as a positive, collaborative member of an inclusive workforce—this new staff member will help TheatreSquared to answer the question, “How can a theatre be an agent of social change—helping foster a community that is fundamentally more equitable?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with the Directors of Marketing and Development and teammates to prioritize the holistic patron experience across campaigns that align with T2’s mission and brand.
  • Implement data-informed strategies to attract new-to-file patrons (NTF), craft compelling invitations and offers to reduce the churn of new-to-file (NTF) households and retain & upgrade relationships with current ticket buyers and donors.
  • Assist in planning for a more purposeful group sales effort going into next season, including prospecting, offer-modeling, networking, and strategic relationship building.
  • Manage the yearly marketing and annual fund patron communications calendar.
  • Assist in executing digital marketing & fundraising campaigns, including but not limited to: email, social media, SEO/SEM, and display advertising.
  • Develop marketing and fundraising initiatives to enhance and grow the company's audience in Northwest Arkansas and online.
  • Create weekly reports and analysis for direct mail, ad placements, and email blasts.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to conduct research and analysis projects to drive cross-departmental strategies.  
  • Work with the development team to create segments for appeals and prioritize messaging to patrons according to their patron lifecycle stage.
  • Assist with writing fundraising appeals, stewardship materials, and marketing sales copy.
  • Maintain industry-leading knowledge of patron experience, and stay abreast of industry trends.
  • Exemplify the TheatreSquared core values with others to advance the organization’s mission.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, sales, English/creative writing/communications, or a related field with a minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with a wide range of people.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with the ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks and projects at a time, and deliver within deadlines.
  • Must be goal-oriented, self-motivated, highly flexible, and able to accept feedback..

DESIRABLE SKILL SETS

  • Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a portfolio provided (Work samples encouraged). 
  • Experience with digital communication software. Prospect2 and Donate2 experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Tessitura or other ticketing or donor software. If not yet proficient, being a self-starter to learn with the help of online tutorials.
  • Experience working on copy generation. (Work samples encouraged)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This permanent, full-time, exempt position includes an annual salary in the range of $45,000-55,000, commensurate with experience. Full-time benefits include health; dental; paid time off; relocation assistance; paid parental leave; professional development allowance; employer-sponsored long-term and short-term disability; $100,000 in employer-sponsored term life insurance; and voluntary 401(k). Relocation assistance is also available.
