Job Description

Namida lab is a biotech company located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. We specialize in novel biomarker diagnostics. Laboratory Technician will assist with analyzing clinical and research laboratory specimen following standard methods and procedures. Experience in ELISA based assays is a must.

Responsibilities

§ Day to day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation and reporting test results.

§ Maintain laboratory records, organize results, and provide suggestions for improvement in laboratory automation and increased productivity.

§ Design and execute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and document all R&D and clinical work appropriately within the guidelines of internal policies.

§ Must always be accessible onsite. Provide direct communication with other personnel and consultation to resolve technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures.  

§ Perform internally developed immunological assays on patient samples for both R&D and Clinical purposes.

§ Assist with current and future assay development and further validation of new assays for use in a clinical laboratory.

§ Comfortable presenting results in both a team setting and independently where identification of problems adversely affecting test performance or result reporting are of critical importance.

§ Responsible for accurate specimen processing, test performance, and reporting of test results in a timely manner.

§ Ensure all laboratory's procedures are followed for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.

§ Adhere to internal quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.

§ Responsible for the daily surveillance of lab equipment and performing routine maintenance as well as documenting all necessary validations and qualifications.

§ Routine checks of laboratory inventory and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.

§ Responsible for notifying General Supervisor or R&D Scientist of problems encountered during the operation of the department. Ensure that technical decisions (i.e., changes to control ranges, etc.) are approved by the General Supervisor or R&D Scientist before changes are made. Keep the General Supervisor or R&D Scientist informed regarding all problems affecting the technical operation of the laboratory.

§ Responsible for other duties as requested by administration, General Supervisor, or R&D Scientist, and Laboratory Director.

Work Environment 

This job operates in a professional office and laboratory environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smartphones, automated liquid handlers, and standard laboratory equipment.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overtime and weekend work may be required. Work hours may change based on company needs. Open to considering part-time position for the right candidate.

Travel 

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. 

Required Education and Experience

§ Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science, medical technology, or chemical, physical, or biological science; OR Associates degree in medical laboratory technology and two years laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing laboratory.

§ Prior ELISA and pipetting experience. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel required.

§ Able to prepare and handle solutions, media, and reagents according to specification for the required assays. Note that the work may require the handling of biohazardous materials.

Preferred Education and Experience

 ·      One year of training and experience in high complexity testing clinical laboratory
