Shire Post Mint - Coin Smith

Position Overview

Shire Post Mint is seeking a full-time hourly employee to assist in the production of authentic fantasy coins. This position reports to the Chief Coin Wizard (Manufacturing Manager) but also works closely with fellow Coin Smiths and other departments.

Start Date: This position is scheduled to begin on or around October 1, 2021.

Location: This is an on-site position with no remote options. The company is located in West Fork, Arkansas.

Position Responsibilities

A Coin Smith at Shire Post Mint helps make awesome coins. Duties will include:

  • Operating coin presses
  • Machinery operation
  • Machinery setup
  • Material finishing
  • General cleanup and shop maintenance
  • Transporting finished coins
  • Packaging and shipping support
  • Other recording, tracking

Preferred Qualifications/Licenses

  • Driver’s License preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly Rate: $15 per hour starting rate, 30-40 hours per week. Performance is evaluated every six months with opportunity for raises.

Benefits: This position offers medical insurance paid 100% for the employee. Additional options include insurance for family members and vision and dental plans and would be the responsibility of the employee. These benefits are available after the first three months of contiguous full-time employment. This position also offers a 401k plan with up to 4% match. This benefit is available after the first six months of contiguous full-time employment.

Physical Requirements: Physical labor. Operating heavy machinery (coin presses). Must be able to remain in a stationary position most of the time and move throughout the workshop. Must be able to operate office equipment and presses and ascend/descend stairs. Will require some lifting/transporting equipment (up to 50 pounds) around the workshop and load into vehicles. Must be able to converse, perceive, and communicate information verbally and visually.
