2020 Sales Tax Revenue Up Almost 5% in NWA

Despite disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers in Benton and Washington counties helped push sales tax revenue up 4.86% in 2020 for the combined four largest cities. -Talk Business & Politics

  • In 2020, Bentonville, Fayetteville, Rogers and Springdale reported a cumulative sales tax revenue of $77.664 million, up from the $74.067 million from the previous year.
  • Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville grew their December sales by 1.94%, 3.81%, and 9.75% respectively from a year ago.

  • Although Bentonville has fewer retail outlets than areas like Rogers, the city grew it's December sales by 20.12% from 2019.
