There are plans for a new building on the University of Arkansas campus, and preparations for the site have begun. 

• More research: The new facility will be the Institute for Integrative and Innovative Research (I3R) Center. It will be the newest cross-disciplinary research facility at the U of A. 
• Step one: The current phase of construction is the ‘Enabling Phase,’ which includes all the prep work for the erection the facility. The official groundbreaking for the new I3R facility is tbd.
