A&P Commission To Kickstart Downtown Business Association In Fayetteville

NWA Daily

For the first time in 13 years, Fayetteville could have an official business association that would advocate for the entire downtown area.

  • A new role: The Advertising and Promotion Commission voted on Monday to allocate $100,000 to create a director of downtown initiatives position. The person who fills the position will start as an employee of the city’s tourism bureau, Experience Fayetteville, and will transition to reporting to its board of directors from an independent organization.
  • A growing city: A previous downtown association called Fayetteville Downtown Partners dissolved in 2009. With the revitalization of Block Ave., the Mill District, the Square, and the upcoming Cultural Arts Corridor, a promotional group looks like a good idea for business owners in Fayetteville.
