The Washington County prison Stabilization Unit is reopening under the management of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

  • Resource: The 16 bed facility will act as an alternative to incarceration for those with mental health needs. It is intended to be a community resource for anyone who needs assistance for substance abuse or mental health before any unnecessary encounter with law enforcement. 
  • Returning: The clinic closed in June due to funding cuts. With its return, it will be will be nationally accredited and offer the same services as before when it was run by Ozark Guidance. There is not a set date for the reopening yet.
