Arkansas Voter Issues

"Arkansas voters appeared on their way to approving a permanent half-cent sales tax to fund highways and local roads and also appeared to support a change to state legislative term limits. But they appeared to be rejecting a proposed amendment that would make it harder to amend the state’s Constitution." TBP

  • Issue 1 - Arkansas approves the 1/2 cent sells tax for highways and roads. Asa is pumped.
  • Issue 2 - Arkansas approves the amendment to the legislative term limits. "With its passage, state lawmakers would be limited to 12 consecutive years in any combination of service in the House and Senate but then could return to the Legislature after four years out of office. If they serve less than 12 years, they could return after any break." TBP
  • Issue 3 - Arkansas rejects the proposed constitutional amendment that would make it harder to amend the state’s Constitution and for Arkansas citizens to pass initiated acts and referenda. A loss for Cotton.
