Health leaders have determined mental health a nation emergency. Here in Northwest Arkansas mental health and substance use services for children and adults are a priority. 

• Local healing: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded Springdale-based nonprofit Ozark Guidance a 2 year, $5m grant to continue to address mental illness in the region.
• Health Initiative: The SAMHSA is a branch of the US Department of Health and Human Services distributing $825m to 231 community health centers across the country.
